Routes & Fares
Select your metro city, enter the starting and destination stations, and click "Find Route". You'll get complete journey details including fare, travel time, and stations.
Indian metro fares are distance-based. The fare increases with the number of stations traveled. Typical fares range from ₹10 for short trips to ₹60 for longer journeys.
Token/cash fare is the regular single-trip fare. Smart card fare is approximately 10% cheaper. Smart card users also skip the ticket queue.
Single-use tokens are non-refundable once used. Unused tokens can be returned within the validity period at most metro stations.
Smart Cards
Visit any metro station's customer service window with a valid ID proof. Pay the card cost (typically ₹100-200 including security deposit) and your card will be activated instantly.
Currently, most metro smart cards are city-specific. The National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) initiative aims to enable one card across all cities.
You can recharge at metro station counters, Add Value Machines (AVM), or through official metro apps. Minimum recharge is usually ₹100.
Timings & Travel
Most Indian metros operate from approximately 5:30-6:00 AM (first train) to 10:30-11:00 PM (last train). Timings may vary by city and station.
During peak hours (8-10 AM and 5-7 PM), trains run every 3-5 minutes. During off-peak hours, the frequency is 5-10 minutes.
If you miss the last metro, you can use alternative transport like auto-rickshaws, cabs (Uber/Ola), or buses. Many metro stations have feeder bus services.
Yes, most Indian metros have a reserved coach for women, usually the first coach of the train.
